What does Bruntsfield mean?

Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. My family is Scottish, and though I live in Canada, I have spent a lot of time there. My mum and her family lived in a neighbourhood called Morningside (hey, Morningside & Co!), which is right next to a suburb named Bruntsfield.

Bruntsfield is a green, historic neighbourhood, home to the ancient Bruntsfield Links. This parkland was one of the first areas in Scotland where golf was played, and the land remains a charming, winding park - perfect for a Sunday stroll. The greenery and pale blue skies inspired the cover quilt’s colour scheme, while the blocks “link” together to create a secondary design.  I can easily picture this quilt in Scottish blue and white, warm fall colours, soft spring hues, and Canadian white and red. I can’t wait to see what inspires you!
